PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winding core improved in reduction of weight, hardness, abrasion resistance, surface smoothness, lowering of thermal expansion coefficient and easy to manufacture. SOLUTION: This winding core is provided with a cylindrical winding core main body 10 forming the most outside layer to be wound with a raw material film on a surface thereof, a core material 20 housed in the winding core body 10 with the predetermined space R between them and working as a rotary shaft when winding, and a connecting plate 20 for connecting the core material 20 and the winding body 10 to each other. The winding core body 10 is formed of a base material layer formed by winding a prepreg glass cloth or carbon cloth, a first winding layer formed by winding the inorganic fiber such as glass and carbon or the synthetic fiber such as nylon at the predetermined angle of inclination, a second winding layer formed by winding the fiber at an angle of crossing different from the angle of crossing of the fiber forming the first winding layer, and a coating layer. A support layer 40 formed of a buffer material is formed in the predetermined space R between the winding core body 10 and the core material 20.
