VIDEO DATA CODING METHOD

PURPOSE: A video data coding method is provided to simplify a coding procedure and improve compression efficiency. CONSTITUTION: Exclusive-OR information is coded in such a manner that a pixel characteristic value, determined according to a predetermined peripheral pixel value, is obtained for each of pixels other than the pixel corresponding to the exclusive-OR information among scan interleaving pixels including the exclusive-OR information and exception information. The obtained pixel characteristic value is mapped into a predetermined probability model value. The mapped value is coded through a predetermined entropy coding method. The exception information is coded in a manner that pixels other than the pixel corresponding to the exclusive-OR information among scan interleaving pixels including the exclusive-OR information and exception information are divided into segments. Then, a pixel characteristic value, determined according to a predetermined peripheral pixel value, is obtained for the first pixel of the segments. The obtained pixel characteristic value is reconstructed into a one-dimensional segment. A pixel characteristic value of the exception information to be coded is extracted. There is obtained the number of times of appearance of the same value as the extracted pixel characteristic value between the exception information pixel to be coded and the exception information pixel previously coded. The number of times of appearance of the value is coded through a predetermined entropy method.
