PURPOSE: A trip meter of a vehicle and an operation method thereof are provided to indicate the trip mileages of respective parts and to indicate the accumulated mileage by initializing a trip meter. CONSTITUTION: A trip meter of a vehicle comprises a rotation sensing unit(10) to sense the RPM of a vehicle via a display unit, a control unit(20) to control the rotation sensing unit and operate the trip distance of a vehicle, a display unit(30) to display the trip distance, a selection switch(40) to display one of parts, and a reset switch(50) to initialize the mileage of the parts. Upon turning on the selection switch for a specific time, parts are displayed sequentially. Mileage is checked by resetting the mileage as zero. Therefore, replacement time of each part is informed to a driver.
