摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas temperature increasing device for an internal combustion engine, capable of early detecting abnormality of the exhaust gas temperature device of the internal combustion engine, and preventing increase of HC during exhaust and the occurrence of thermal degradation. SOLUTION: This exhaust gas temperature increasing device comprises an exhaust throttle valve 15 for regulating engine exhaust amount by a throttle amount of a valve, an injector 12 for performing main injection and auxiliary injection directly in a cylinder, an ECU 4 serving as an exhaust gas temperature increasing means, to perform executive control of the increase of an exhaust gas temperature by combustion through auxiliary injection in addition to executive control of exhaust-throttling by an exhaust throttle valve 15 and combustion by main injection executed in an air excessive state, an injector 12, an exhaust throttle valve 15, an exhaust gas temperature sensor 16 for monitoring the an exhaust gas temperature increasing state through execution of the exhaust gas temperature increasing means, an ECU 4 serving as a monitoring means abnormality deciding means to decide the presence of abnormality of the exhaust gas temperature sensor 16, and an ECU 4 serving as an exhaust gas temperature increase stopping means to stop operation of the exhaust gas temperature increasing means, when it is decided by the ECU 14 that abnormality has occurred in the exhaust gas temperature sensor 16.</p>
