PURPOSE: The method for setting environment using a macro function in a point-of-sale(POS) system is provided to automatically offer the sale movement environment desired by a clerk, by enabling the clerk to set the sale movement environment using the macro function, and making the macro function performed at a sign-on. CONSTITUTION: It is checked whether a clerk sign-on key for inputting a user name and a password is selected(S401). A clerk data input window is displayed in order to request the inputs of a clerk name, a resident registration number and a password(S402). It is checked whether the data inputted via the window equals to the data of a clerk data file(S403). The sale movement environment is set, based on the data of the clerk data file(S404). The macro function data included in the clerk data file is detected(S405,S406), and then the macro function is performed(S407). When the sale movement environment suitable for the clerk is set, a clerk sale mode for inputting the information on the movement of the clerk is executed(S408).
