PURPOSE: An automatic balancer for an optical recording/reproducing apparatus is provided to minimize vibration and noise by inserting an elastic material between rotating portions of a ball case and a spindle motor for a ball to be smoothly moved therein, and also to increase freedom of selecting physical property of a dustproof rubber by increasing the amount of whirling of the automatic balancer. CONSTITUTION: Coil springs(100) are fixedly installed on an external surface between a rotational portion(31) of a spindle motor and a rotational portion(31) of ball case(11) at predetermined intervals. The coil springs(100) increase the amount of whirling of an automatic balancer and also prevents vibration and noise from being occurred due to unbalance of an optical disk. A charging fluid may used instead of the ball. In this case, the coil springs(100) are fixedly installed on an external surface between rotational portions of a charging fluid case(not shown) and the spindle motor. The present invention has an advantage of improving vibration and noise resist characteristic and of drastically increasing degree of freedom in selecting physical characteristics of a dustproof rubber, which serves to adjust vibration and noise, including the number of natural oscillation and the rate of transmission.
