DEVICE FOR MANUFACTURING PREFORM OF OPTICAL FIBER

PURPOSE: A device for manufacturing preform of optical fiber is provided which improves productivity of the optical fiber preform by shortening the time for collapse and close processes and polarization mode dispersion property by preventing partial transformation of the optical fiber preform and are effective for improving manufacturing environment and preventing environmental contamination by discharging neutralized noxious gas. CONSTITUTION: The device comprises: (i) a vertical lathe; (ii) a deposition tube(102) which is installed on the vertical lathe; (iii) a gas storing part(150) which stores gas injected into the deposit tube and comprises a nitrogen storing part(50) and a chlorine storing part(60); (iv) gas valves(70, 80) which open and shut gas supply from the gas storing part to the deposit tube responding to a valve drive signal; (v) a vacuum pumping part(100) which vacuum pumps air in the deposit tube; (vi) a vacuum valve(120) which opens and shuts between the vacuum pumping part and the deposit tube responding to a vacuum instruction signal; (vi) a process controlling part(140) which outputs the valve drive signal and the vacuum instruction signal according to pre-determined process information; (vii) a waste gas treating part(110) which purifies waste gas discharged from the deposition tube; and (viii) a waste gas valve(130) which is installed between the waste gas treating part and the deposition tube to open and shut waste gas discharge.
