THERMOPLASTIC RESIN COMPOSITION HAVING IMPROVED IMPACT RESISTANCE

PURPOSE: A thermoplastic resin composition containing polycarbonate resin, polypropylene resin and modified styrene-butylene-styrene block copolymer having epoxy groups as a compatibilizer, and as a reacting catalyst, quaternary ammonium salt is provided to accomplish improvement of impact-resistance and fluidity of the composition. CONSTITUTION: A thermoplastic resin composition includes 20-80 weight parts of polycarbonate resin and 80-20 weight parts of polypropylene resin. The composition also contains 1-10 weight parts of modified styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene block copolymer having epoxy group as a compatibilizer for two resins, based on total 100 weight parts of the resins. Additionally, the composition is added by 0.1-0.5 weight parts of quaternary ammonium salt as a reaction catalyst. The compatible agent is obtained by hydrotreating 90-99 wt.% of double bonds derived from butadiene to styrene-butadiene-styrene copolymer and allowing the untreated 1-10 wt.% of double bonds under epoxification process.
