PURPOSE: A method for burning a music file using an XDSL(X Digital Subscriber Line) modem is provided to interface with a portable MP3 player using high performance of the XDSL modem, so that a user can load a desired MP3 file on the Internet and update the file to a self terminal. CONSTITUTION: In an XDSL(X Digital Subscriber Line) modem(20), an NIM(Network Interface Module,22) receives ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) downstream for modulation into digital, and modulates data of a modem for transmission to an FTTC(Fiber To The Curb) network. An ATM processor(24) processes ATM cells transceived by the NIM(22), to re-construct the processed ATM cells to Ethernet frames of a channel desired by a user for supply to a designated input/output interface unit(28). A RAM(26) stored TCP/IP(Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) data processed in the ATM processor(24), and stores application programs. In the input/output interface unit(28), an RS-232C interface processes commands from a user through a terminal, and an MP3 interface is for interfacing with an MP3 player.
