PURPOSE: A portable video music player and a method thereof are provided to play a video music file in a portable player having a limited storage capacity, to capture and compress a video of a television broadcasting, and to enable video, music and video music data between portable players to be wirelessly communicated in a short distance. CONSTITUTION: An interface part(410) uploads/downloads video files and audio files by being connected to a host. A storing part(430) stores the plurality of video files and audio files downloaded. An instruction input part(424) selects a music video. A video decoding part decodes a video data and outputs the decoded video signal. An audio decoding part decodes an audio data and outputs the decoded audio signal. A display part displays the decoded video signal. Ann audio output part(470) outputs the decoded audio signal into a sound. If a music video is selected by the instruction input part(424), a system control part(420) reads out the plurality of video files with respect the audio files in response to a link table of the selected music video, from the storing part(430) and provides the audio data to the audio decoding part and provides the video data to the video decoding part.
