PURPOSE: An anticoagulation activator separated from Eugenia caryophyllata and a method for purifying anti-coagulant refined substance obtained from alkali extracts, ethanol precipitation, cationic surfactant treatment and ultrafiltration process is provided, which can be used for drugs as well as functional foods suppressing thrombogenesis in blood. CONSTITUTION: This anticoagulation activator separated from Eugenia caryophyllata includes Eugenia caryophyllata or fractional refined substance as an effective component and has a molecular weight of 34,000 to 92,000. In a process for purifying an anticoagulation activator, the process comprises the steps of removing a water-soluble part from Eugenia caryophyllata by mixing methanol and agitating, extracting in 1.0N NaOH at 70deg.C, fractioning by passing extracts through ethanol precipitation, cationic surfactant treatment and ultrafiltration process successively.
