PURPOSE: A microwave oven and its control circuit are provided to simplify the operation and to improve the external appearance. CONSTITUTION: The microwave oven comprises an operational panel(21) having an exposed contact element, a control circuit(61) for generating the prescribed signal based on the capacitance applied to the contact element, and a micro computer(91). The control circuit has an oscillator(63) for producing the prescribed signal, a reference signal generator(75) for generating the constant frequency signal, a comparator(81) for comparing the signals generated from the oscillator with the reference signal generator, and an output generator(85). The operational panel comprises an operational main body, a touch panel, and a flexible circuit board attached to the touch panel.
