PURPOSE: A vapor cleaning method and a vapor generating apparatus are provided to maximize the heat efficiency while minimizing the heat loss by using almost all capacities in vaporizing water by the heat generated by a burner to reduce the time required for generating the vapor. CONSTITUTION: A vapor cleaning method includes the steps of supplying water of a water supply to a water storage tank(S1), supplying the water in the water storage tank to a heating tank mounted in a main body of a combustion chamber via a water supply tube to be opened and closed by a water supplying tube(S2), generating vapor in the heating tank by heating the water in the heating chamber with a burner and passing the heat through an inside of the heating tank having a plurality of heat exchange pipes and a space part between the heating chamber and the main body(S3), storing the generated vapor in the heating chamber in a vapor storage tank for selectively discharging via a branched vapor discharge pipe and first and second vapor discharge valves(S4), supplying the water in the water storage tank to a cleaning element to discharge by opening the first vapor discharge valve in case of discharging the stored vapor and by a vapor pressure in the vapor storage tank by opening the second vapor discharge valve and the water supply valve while closing the first vapor discharge valve in case of discharging the water in the water storage tank to the outside(S5), and forcibly discharging the vapor in the vapor storage tank to the outside automatically if the pressure in the vapor storage tank is increased beyond a set pressure(S6).
