PURPOSE: An attachment structure and method for electronic component is provided to reduce parts count and manufacturing cost by eliminating the necessity of using a bobbin when mounting a transformer or an inductor onto a printed circuit board(PCB). CONSTITUTION: A plurality of square holes(4) for insertion of an upper core(3) of an inductor(2) are formed at a PCB(1), and a pattern(5) serving as a coil of the inductor is formed along the outer periphery of the square hole. A lower core(6) is coupled to the lower end of the upper core of the inductor. The pattern formed along the outer periphery of the square hole makes turns in circle or square so as to constitute a closed circuit. Thus, a transformer or the inductor can be readily mounted onto the PCB without winding a coil onto a bobbin, to thereby reduce part counts and manufacturing cost.
