PURPOSE: A vibration noise reducing device of an escalator by using a damping spring is provided for a lower terminal gear tension unit or a driving chain safety system to absorb the vibration of a tension spring with synthetic rubber surrounding the tension spring, thereby reducing the vibration and noise of an escalator due to the tension of a step-chain. CONSTITUTION: A vibration noise reducing device includes a damping spring(10) formed of a tension spring(160) integrally surrounded by synthetic rubber(20) to adsorb the vibration generated in case of the tension motion of the tension spring and mounted to a tension unit of a lower terminal gear generating rigid body vibration.
