PURPOSE: A backward power control method in a mobile communication system is provided to operate a dynamic PCSS(Power Control Step Size) more efficiently by making a base station catch the power problem generation of a mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: A base station first receives a backward SDB(Supplemental Data Block) frame from a mobile terminal(S1) and then judges whether a PEI(Power Exhausted Indicated) is '1'(S2). If the PEI of the SDB is '1', the base station sets up a PCSS as the maximum value and directs the down of backward power to the mobile terminal so that the power problem of the mobile terminal can be eliminated(S3). In case that the PEI is '0', the base station restores the PCCS to a default value, carries out the up or down of power(S4) and returns to a normal backward power control routine(S5). |
