SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING TELESCOPE USING STEPPING MOTOR

PURPOSE: A system for controlling a telescope using a stepping motor is provided to extend a 16bit counter into a 32bit counter by a software program and to provide a processor controlling the telescope accurately. CONSTITUTION: In a system of controlling a telescope, an interface(10) delivers data from an external computer to a micro processor(20). A 16bit pulse generator(30) generates a pulse driving a motor using a reference pulse from the micro processor(20). Pulse counters(51,52) extend the 16bit pulse into a 32bit pulse by adjusting the count value when an overflow occurs. A real time clock(21) provides an exact time for the micro processor(20) through a certain address of the memory(22,23). A limit switch(40) delivers the output of the 16bit pulse generator(30) to the motor drivers(71,72)
