PURPOSE: A damper apparatus for refrigerator is provided to reduce manufacturing cost by eliminating, from the configuration, the motor for opening/closing a baffle. CONSTITUTION: A damper apparatus comprises a frame(50) mounted in a cooling air supply path and which has a cooling air passage hole(50a); a baffle(52) supported to be rotatable at the side of the frame, and which rotates so as to open/close the cooling air passage hole; a gear unit(56) mounted at a rotation shaft(54) of the baffle; an opening/closing guide(70) having a rack gear(70a) to be engaged with the gear unit and which moves in straight vertical direction so as to rotate the gear unit; and a shape memory alloy(64) which contracts and expands by the heat produced from a heater wire(62) wound along the outer periphery of the shape memory alloy and which allows the opening/closing guide to move in a linear manner. A baffle driving unit(60) has an actuating shaft(66) mounted onto the top of the baffle driving unit, and the shape memory alloy is wound along the actuating shaft.
