PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leading method for an airship and a device therefor allowing a safe takeoff and landing without causing increase in weight or the like even if the airship is a large-size airship such as the airship flying through the stratosphere. SOLUTION: This leading device comprises a winch 11 mounted on the ground; a tether 12 connected to the winch 11; and a tag airship 13 having a docking device 17 with the airship 14, provided at the tip of the tether 12, and capable of self-navigating. The airship 14 takes off by leading the airship 14 into the air of a safe altitude by the tag airship 13 connected to the airship 14 and releasing the airship 14. The airship 14 lands by navigating the tag airship 13, capturing and connecting the airship 14 in the air of the safe altitude, and drawing the tether 12 to lead the airship 14. Thus, the leading device allows the safe takeoff and landing of the airship 14 without causing the increase in the weight of the airship 14 itself.
