PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To design such a mechanism structure of a draw bar that a coupler at a car body tip end portion does not hinder plastic deformation when a vehicular structure is designed to absorb collision energy by giving the above plastic deformation positively to the tip end portion of a car body frame against excessive impact caused by a collision of a train. SOLUTION: In this car coupler by a draw bar having a draft gear provided with a shock absorber, a draw bar 2 is divided into a draw bar main body portion and a draw bar lower portion having a cylinder 2a. The draw bar lower portion is equipped to a draft bar main body portion so as to move in a back-and-forth direction, and the draw bar lower portion is coupled to the draw bar main body portion by a cutting bolt.
