Manufacture of a non-contact analog position sensor includes applying to a substrate a multi layer printed circuit material including a spiral coil. At least one layer is metallic with specific magnetic properties. The circuit may have a ferromagnetic material on both faces of layers of copper. An insulating material covers an external face of the coil and extends between its windings. The metallic layer is applied to an external face of the printed circuit.
