The automatic watering device for pot plants comprises a reservoir (3) at the bottom of the pot (1) which has a pierced lid (4). A sheet of capillary material (10) is fitted on top with its ends inserted though the lid into the reservoir. A filling tube (12) allows water to be added to the reservoir. The reservoir acts as packing for the filling tube and the capillary material.
