PURPOSE: A method for distributively selecting a traffic channel of a code division multiple access base station for preventing a bias of traffic channel element is provided to smoothly select a traffic channel by equally distributing traffic channel elements to each shelf and channel card. CONSTITUTION: In case that a call is generated, it is judged whether a termination-condition is below the maximum traffic channel element value(S1-1). In case that the termination-condition is not below the maximum traffic channel element value, all traffic channel elements are recognized as busy state. In case that the termination-condition is below the maximum traffic channel element value, the value is increased as much as '1'(S1-2). It is judged whether a shelf index is below the maximum shelf(S2-1). In case that the shelf index is below the maximum shelf, the shelf index is increased as much as '1' and a channel card index is increased as much as the maximum channel card(S2-2). In case that the shelf index is not below the maximum shelf, the channel card index is increased as much as '1'. In addition, it is judged whether the channel card index is below the maximum channel card(S2-3-1). In case that the channel card index is not below the maximum channel card, the channel card index and the shelf index are replaced by the initial value '0'(S2-3-2). It is judged whether a traffic channel element is in an idle state. In case that the traffic channel element is not in the idle state, it is returned to an initial state. In case that the traffic channel element is in the idle state, the traffic channel element is selected(S3).
