An iontophoresis device suited to detect a conduction problem at start-up an d during operation. The iontophoresis device comprises a device (50) as a powe r supply, which includes an electric energy generator (60) for producing electric energy, an output (70) for delivering electric energy, and a detect or (80) for checking that electric energy is properly supplied. The detector (8 0) is adapted to operate in the absence of energy from the output (70). During operation, a microcomputer (12) gives commands to activate the detector (80) and the output (70) alternately.
