The invention relates to a tolerance ring (1) which consists of a polymeric material and is arranged between a bearing outer ring (4) of a radial bearing and a location hole of a housing in such a way that said ring bridges a radial gap. The tolerance ring (1) is provided with means which prevent said ring from being axially displaced. The means engage with corresponding recesses of the housing in a positive fit. According to the invention, the tolerance ring (1) is provided with at least one fixing lug (6) that is subjected to tensile stress and elastically rests on the bearing outer ring (4) when the tolerance ring is pushed in a constructional unit of the bearing, in such a way that a restoring force which is radially directed towards the outside acts upon the fixing lug (6). Said force guarantees secure latching.
