An adhesive (R) is applied to one layer (D1) of an optical recording disk. The layer (D1) is then turned upside down before being joined to the other layer (D2) to complete the disk (D). Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) the above process including hardening the adhesive by ultra-violet radiation; (b) the above process followed by spinning the assembly to distribute the adhesive and then hardening the adhesive by ultra-violet radiation; (c) mechanical handling equipment to carry out the full process.
