A cutter for a plane or router has the cutting blade fitted to a cassette (3) which is held in a shaped recess in the rotating mounting. A T-shaped groove provides a secure grip for an adjusting wedge (6) onto which is bolted the sloping mounting face of the cutter. The cassette is held together by clamping screws and is secured into the recess by mounting screws. The cutter is adjustable axially and radially and is designed for high cutting speeds.
