The invention relates to a telecommunications system for establishing and operating individual communications links. Electric lines originate in the central devices of such a system and are laid to the users/houses. Line termination devices that are provided with radio, transmitting and receiving devices are connected to said electric lines on the user side and obtain an own, local identity. A user can be connected to line termination devices by means of a corresponding terminal having an own identity and radio, transmitting and receiving devices. As the radio channel is only occupied during the period of the connection, other users can be served in the remaining time.
