PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for compensation of mass storage inverter system is provided to improve reliability of the inverter system by accurately detecting offset component in output voltage of the inverter to prevent malfunction of a motor. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for compensation of mass storage inverter system comprises an inverter(20), an output transformer(30), a voltage sensing transformer(50), an output voltage detector(60), and a controller(70). The inverter rectifies three-phase input AC power into DC voltage. Rectified DC voltage is increased, decreased or isolated and then supplied to a motor by the output transformer. Output voltage from the inverter is detected and transformed into small voltage by the voltage sensing transformer. The output voltage detector transforms output of the voltage sensing transformer to detect offset voltage. The controller obtains offset voltage from the output voltage detector and drives the inverter using the obtained offset voltage to control the mass storage inverter system.
