<p>Two layers (D1, D2) of an optical recording disk are joined by first applying a resin adhesive (R) concentrically and distributing it by slowly rotating one disk while the other is kept stationary. At the same time pressure is applied. The assembly is then rotated at high speed to complete the distribution and the adhesive cured by ultra-violet radiation. Independent claims are also included for: (a) a similar process but where both layers are slowly rotated under pressure after application of the adhesive; (b) a mechanical handling arrangement for carrying out the process automatically.</p> |
