A hybrid polymer-based coating composition for the production of non-stick coatings contains 50-80 wt.% amino-functional silicon oxide sol, 10-50 wt.% radically polymerizable vinyl monomer with a second functional group which can react with amino groups, 0.1-20 wt.% fluoro-carboxylic acid ester and 0.1-5 wt.% radical initiator. An Independent claim is also included for a protective coating for solid materials, obtained by applying and crosslinking a composition as described above.
