The system for building furniture, e.g. in restaurants and shops, uses supports (1) linked by rods. The supports consist of profiles with an octagonal cross-section and with longitudinal slots (3) into which hooks on the ends of the rods fit, as in DE19849352. The novelty is that the profiles may have a different cross-section and contain additional slots (3a) into which the rods can be inserted.
