The fixing process involves forming at least one through passage (3) in the metal surround (1) of the base body. The walls of this passage project beyond the outer surface of the base body. The projecting regions of the walls are laid back before or after the fitting of the built-on part. The built-on part may be placed on the passage so that the projecting parts of the walls can be bent round suitably shaped sectors of it.
