If content data distributed through a network have been destroyed, the conte nt data are restored while protecting the copyright.A PC stores a backup of distributed music content in a hard disk and supplies an EMD server with a usage log of the music content stored in the hard disk. If the music content in the hard disk has been destroyed for example, a PC reads the usage log fr om the EMD server and reproduces the backup data stored in the hard disk according to the usage log.
