The automobile lamp has at least one light source, a reflector and/or a focussing lens, for providing a parallel light beam, which passes through an optical disc with a number of optical elements (6), each having an array of optical surfaces with cylindrical lens regions (8a,8b; 9a,9b) on either side of 2 perpendicular centre lines, which taper inwards in width from the outer edges towards the centre (7) of the optical element.
