An electric type initiator which secures reliability during the operation and which is easy to produce, characterized by comprising a header portion made of resin material, a pair of conductive pins extending through the header portion until its head is exposed from the end of the header portion, a bridge wire formed by using a conductor constructed between the heads of the conductive pins, and an ignition charge disposed in contact with the bridge wire. An initiator assembly having a smaller number of manufacturing steps, easy to produce, capable of reducing production cost, and including an ignition charge for use in vehicles, the initiator assembly comprising an ignition charge, conductive pins used to ignite the ignition charge, and a collar member functioning as a stationary portion with respect to an inflator, wherein the conductive pins are arranged to extend through the collar member, and a forming member made of insulative material is interposed between the collar member and the conductive pins, the conductive pins, collar member and forming member being integrally formed to constitute the base.
