<p>A multi-purpose tray (10) is provided which allows for stacking and cross-nesting of like trays, and allows for stacking, but not cross-nesting, of unlike trays. The tray (10) includes a generally rectangular bottom surface (12) having at least one cross-nesting aperture (40) formed therein, and a pair of opposed end walls (14, 16) extending upwardly from the bottom surface (12). The tray (10) further includes a pair of opposed side walls (18, 20) extending upwardly from the bottom surface (12) and integrally joined with the pair of opposed end walls (14, 16). One of the pair of opposed side walls (18, 20) includes at least one raised portion (42) that is sized and located to be slidably received by the cross-nesting aperture (40) of another like tray when the trays are disposed in a cross-nested configuration.</p> |
