The valve automatically opens when the liquid pressure inside the vessel is removed, e.g. due to a pump failure. A valve for a vessel filled with liquid is opened by applying an external pressure to the valve or by the removal of the pressure inside the vessel. The pressure applied to the valve in order to keep it closed is proportional to the pressure acting upon the valve inlet (2).
