The invention relates to a method for using alphanumerical signs as call number for establishing connections and for internally signalling in and between telecommunications networks (name choice, alias choice). The inventive method can preferably be used in digital networks that are at least provided with computerised switching centres and central channelling (SS7, DSS1 or the like).
