The suspension unit (10) has holder sections for suspension parts, mounting parts to mount the unit on a vehicle body, and a frame housing section (16), forming the housing for a steering gear box. The holder sections consist of lower mounting parts to hold and support lower arms. The front suspension unit has side parts (12,14), which carry the arm mounting parts and the body mounting parts, and extend on the ends of the suspension unit in longitudinal vehicle direction.
