<p>The smart card has a microprocessor (1) and memory's (2,3) for storing data including a public key certificate and a series of data fields. The memory's include a zones, each reserved for a unique representation of several identical fields. The microprocessor has means for addressing the memory zones. Memory zone (3) is organized into two categories (31,32), one (31) stores the public key certificate, the other (32) a pointer. Method for transmitting the public key certificates in which certain data fields are repeated several times. Each data field is transmitted only once and after transmission the certificate is recalculated. A certificate has several data fields indicating the public key of the card accompanied by its identity as well as a unique coded signature of the group of fields calculated by the certification authority.</p> |
