PURPOSE: A device for controlling clearance of a brake is provided to automatically control the clearance between a brake shoe and a brake drum according to temperature. CONSTITUTION: A device for adjusting clearance of a brake comprises a frame(3) attached to a first brake shoe(1); a control screw(4) attached to a second brake shoe(2) inserted to the frame; a first elastic member moving the control screw toward the second brake shoe; a control nut(5) supporting the control screw on the frame by rotating according to temperature; saw tooth(6) formed on an outer circumference of the control nut; a coil spring(7) installed between the control nut and the control screw; first and extension springs(8,9); a bracket(10) mounted on the frame; a cam plate(12) having a rotational shaft(11) by being supported by the bracket; a torsion spring(13) elastically supporting the cam plate toward the saw tooth; and an actuating lever controlling rotation of the cam plate by being mounted on the rotational shaft.
