A system for matching a service provider offering to perform a specified service with a user requesting performance of a related service. Matching is based on comparing a user service request with a service provider profile identifying the services offered by the service provider. Matched service providers receive notification of the user service request. If interested, the matched service provider bids on the requested service. The user reviews a listing of bids and identifies any interesting bids in order to receive contact information. The user has the option of contacting bidders directly for more information before selecting a bidder to perform the requested service. A performance rating, provided by the user after the service is completed, is used to update the performance rating in the corresponding service provider profile. |
