The invention relates to a device for the vertical fitting up of a pole or post-like object (4) joined with a securing device (6) embedded in the ground, comprising an elongate cylindrical mounting mandrel (10) which can be driven into an accomodating bore (12) at the underside of the pole or post-like object (4), further comprising a support plate (16) from whose plane the mounting mandrel (10) extends upwards and on which the underside (14 of the pole or post-like object (4) rests, said support plate (16) also having at least one securing projection (18) protruding upwards and penetrating the material of pole or post-like object (4), the claimed device being characterized in that the mounting mandrel (10) is substantially thinner than the accomodating bore (12) cut at the lower end of the pole or post-like object (4 thereby providing considerable play between the outer surface of the mounting mandrel (10) and the inner surface of the accomodating bore (12), said play permitting the compensation of some possible deviations from the vertical of the securing device (6) embedded in the ground, and the support plate (16) is provided with a plurality of securing projections (18) protruding upwards, said securing projections lying in a closed ring - like array along the circumference and having the upper side bevelled as a knife cutting edge.
