The invention relates to a process for manufacturing graphite electrodes. According to the invention, the process consists in mixing the starting material comprising calcined petroleum coke with pitch, in a first step, then in homogenizing the mixture at a temperature of 100 ... 120 degree C for one hour, adding extrusion oil, and further extruding said mixture, and treating the manufactured raw electrode thermally by baking at a temperature of 130 degree C, in the absence of air, and then graphitizing it in a high voltage field, and finally machining the resulting electrodes, thereby obtaining electrodes with improved properties.
