A method of invoking a server object (16) in a distributed object computing environment (10) includes the steps of receiving a data stream comprising a serialized message, retrieving, from the stream, a name of a server object (16) to be invoked and interrogating the server object (16). The method further includes the steps of deserializing the message based on information obtained from the interrogation, and invoking the server object (16) using the deserialized message. And, a server system (62) in a distributed object computing environment that includes an object adaptor configured to receive a data stream comprising a serialized message, and a skeleton configured to retrieve, from the stream, a name of a server object (16) to be invoked, configured to interrogate the server object (16) and configured to deserialize the message based on information obtained from the interrogation. |
