PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle navigation system by which a driver can reach a destination without watching a display screen as far as possible by a method wherein the advance direction of an own vehicle in all crossings is instructed. SOLUTION: This on-vehicle navigation system 1 comprises a guidance-route retrieval means 21 which retrieves a guidance route up to a destination which is input by the driver of an own vehicle. The on-vehicle navigation apparatus comprises a crossing- information acquisition means 22 by which, when the guide of the guidance route is started, crossing information on the shape of a crossing appearing next, the advance direction of the own vehicle or the like is acquired when the own vehicle is run on the guidance route. The on-vehicle navigation apparatus comprises an advance-direction instruction means 23 by which the advance direction of the own vehicle in the crossing appearing next is instructed to the driver on the basis of the crossing information. The on-vehicle navigation apparatus comprises a destination instruction means 24 by which whether the own vehicle reaches a destination or not is judged when the own vehicle passes the crossing and which instructs that the own vehicle reaches the destination when the own vehicle reaches the destination. |
