PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a content of a hydrogen carbide while suppressing a nitrogen oxide concentration in a combustion exhaust gas and to suppress emission of the hydrogen carbide, carbon monoxide and dioxins in a combustion equipment for burning a fuel by supplying fuel and air to a burner. SOLUTION: The method for controlling a combustion comprises the steps of detecting a content of a hydrogen carbide in a combustion exhaust gas, setting an upper limit content PHU to the detected hydrogen carbide, and regulating a supply amount of air A to a burner 2 so as to maintain the content of the hydrogen carbide in the exhaust gas to the content PHU or less. In this case, instead of the fuel, a combustible material containing the fuel may be burned. Instead of the air, an oxygen-containing gas may be supplied, and a supply amount of the oxygen-containing gas may be regulated to a predetermined range.
