PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the convenience of a network printing system capable of limiting the number of sheets of paper allowed to be printed for each user in each printer even when the number of prints instructed to the printer by the user has already reached the number of sheets allowed to be printed for the user. SOLUTION: At the time of receiving printing data from a host device 2, a server device 3 checks whether a user requesting printing has the using right of a printing requested printer device 1 or not and the accumulated number of prints reach the number of printable sheets or not. When these conditions are satisfied, the server device 3 transfers the printing data to the requested printer device 1. When the conditions are not satisfied, i.e., when the user has no using right or the user has the using right but the accumulated number of sheets has already reached the number of printable sheets, a substitutive printer device 1 on which the accumulated number of prints requested by the user does not reach the number of printable sheets is retrieved. When the substitutive printer device 1 is detected, the transfer destination of the printing data is changed to the substitutive printer device 1 to execute printing.
