PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a debris filter for a fuel assembly for effectively trapping harmful debris which when flowing into the fuel assembly may cause damage to fuel rods, to thereby eliminate the possibility that harmful debris, such as microscopic chips, wire, plates, which may be contained in coolant circulating within a nuclear reactor, may cause fretting damage to the fuel rods when the coolant containing such debris flows into the fuel assembly. SOLUTION: In the debris filter in which curved plates are arranged at equal intervals to one another so that no flow passage passing straight between an inlet and an outlet exists, protrusions are provided locally on the running water surface of each curved plate to subdivide the openings in the flow passage.
